British Columbia Representation Agreements — additional fee
A Representation Agreement is a distinct British Columbia planning document used to authorize another person to assist with or make certain health and personal-care decisions. It is not included in either advertised Will package. If required, the lawyer will discuss the appropriate form of agreement and quote the additional preparation fee before proceeding.
Please note that the advertised package fee includes $95.00 payable by BCGREA members directly to Upper Canada WILLS for the marketing and promotion of the BCGREA member benefit. This amount is included in—not added to—the package price. Any royalty contribution to the Association is subject to the partnership agreement.
In the event that separate or supplementary estate documentation is required by the BCGREA member, or the estate documentation is particularly complex, an additional fee may be negotiated directly with the lawyer who will be preparing the estate documentation.
A disbursement charge of approximately $30.00 plus applicable tax will apply to each file.
Prices in Canadian dollars, plus applicable taxes. These proposed $495/$695 rates are subject to confirmation under the current BCGREA partnership agreement. British Columbia residents only.

Frequently asked questions
Why should I have a Will?
A Will helps identify who should administer your estate and how assets forming part of your estate should be distributed. A lawyer can explain how provincial law and your circumstances affect your planning.
Do I meet with a lawyer?
Yes. Upper Canada Wills & Estates connects clients with independent licensed legal professionals.
What is the difference between an Enduring Power of Attorney and a Representation Agreement?
In British Columbia, an Enduring Power of Attorney generally covers financial and legal matters, while a Representation Agreement addresses specified health and personal-care decisions. Neither is included in the advertised Will packages; the lawyer can provide separate fee quotations as needed.
How much does it cost?
The proposed Will packages are $495 for an individual and $695 for a couple, plus applicable tax and disbursements. A Representation Agreement carries a separate legal fee, quoted by the lawyer in advance. Other additional documents may also be separately priced. Package rates remain subject to confirmation.
